Hurricane Relief
In late October 2025, Hurricane Melissa made landfall in Jamaica as a powerful Category 5 storm, with sustained winds reaching up to 185 mph (298 km/h) — the strongest hurricane ever recorded to strike Jamaica. More than 90,000 families were affected and 120,000 structures damaged across the island, leaving countless communities cut-off and without access to food, clean water or shelter. Entire towns were submerged, roads were blocked by landslides, and power outages affected more than 70% of the island — with many communities still struggling to restore electricity and access to clean water.
Our Actions:
Deliver emergency food and water to affected communities.
Distribute blankets, clothing, and hygiene kits to families in need.
Partner with local schools to support rebuilding efforts.
Impact:
Over 500 families received critical supplies, and our volunteers worked around the clock to ensure no child went hungry during the storm’s aftermath. We continue to monitor recovery efforts and provide ongoing support to rebuild communities stronger than before.
